It's Me, Pat!

Pat Yourself On the Back

One of the best feelings ever as a mother, to me at least, is when other people compliment you as a parent and speak highly of your children and how they’re being raised. Sometimes us parents/guardians, aren’t too sure that we’re doing a good job, but it only takes one person to help you see that you’re doing something right.

I constantly get told by friends, family and strangers how well behaved, well mannered, polite, thoughtful, smart and awesome my kids are. All of this is true! My husband and I are blessed to have amazing kids. We do our best to “raise them right”, but at the end of the day, that doesn’t always work and no one, parent or child, is perfect. Kids need discipline and parents make mistakes. We learn, we adjust and we grow. That is what helps us become better parents.

So on those days when you’re uncertain, stop beating yourself up, pat yourself on the back and just keep doing your best. Your kids know you love them and they love you back!
